Your Ride Begins
“5:00 AM!” you exclaim.
You leap out of bed when the alarm rings, and your first response is that there has been some mistake. Surely it is still the middle of the night, but the clock says 5:00 AM. Just enough time to grab a cup of coffee, and head out to the field for your very first balloon ride.
Your hostess has told you to wear layers of clothing, as it will be cold on the launch field, but warm and beautiful for your post-flight brunch. Sensible shoes?? Guess that means no sandals. Those hiking boots are probably the most sensible shoes you own.
Off you go to meet your pilot and crew. The drive to the field is incredible. Pasturelands you pass are blanketed with a thin layer of fog, and houses and barns glow in the rosy dawn light. Maybe getting up early isn’t so bad after all.
After meeting your pilot and crew, you drive out onto the launch field to begin inflation.
“Sure, I’d love to stand back and watch the inflation and have another cup of coffee,” you tell your hostess.

“Give me a job!” you say. “I want the full experience.”
